They call it the island of a thousand names, not only because of the large number of different names it has had, but also because of the infinity of adjectives that exist to describe it. Reasons are not lacking to fall in love with it: impressive landscapes, hospitality of its people, delicious (although spicy) food and, of course, exuberant nature.
With just over 20 million inhabitants, this island off the southeastern tip of India is a unique destination worth discovering.
In the center is Kandy, the cultural capital. It is home to one of the holiest sites in Buddhism, the great Buddha Tooth Temple, which is attended by hundreds of devotees every day. And for nature lovers, Sri Lanka is lucky to be home to the Yala National Park, where leopards can be spotted. In addition to the more touristy beaches, such as Mirissa, there are little-exploited paradises such as Nilaveli beaches, or Pigeon Island, which has one of the richest coral reefs in the area.
Sri Lanka is culture, history, nature, beach, mountains... All at once.
