Terms and conditions: my Barceló Benefits Program


my Barceló Benefits is the international loyalty program (hereinafter, the "Program") of Barceló Gestión Hotelera, S.L. with a registered office at Calle José Rover Motta 27, 07006, Palma de Mallorca (hereinafter, "Barceló" or "Barceló Hotel Group") in force since July 2, 2015, open and free, aimed at rewarding the loyalty of the private and self-employed Account Holder who books on Barcelo.com and via the Call Center through high-value benefits, content and communications that will enhance your experience Barceló before, during and after your stay.

 

Access to the my Barceló Benefits Program and the performance of operations through the Barcelo.com website and the telephone reservation service Barceló (hereinafter, the " Barceló Call Center") of Barceló Hotel Group implies acceptance of the following conditions of use:

 

- accept the privacy policy of the Barceló Hotel Group website

 

- in order to restrict access, through the website www.barcelo.com, confidential information relating to the account of the my Barceló Benefits Program, so that it can only be known by or with the consent of the Account Holder, will be required to enter their personal data (name, surname, telephone number, date of birth, residence address), a unique and personal email address, as well as a password.

 

- if a member forgets their password, they can request that it be sent to the email address with which they have registered as their username. To do this, go to the www.barcelo.com website and access the my Barceló Benefits area and click on the option: "Forgot your email or password?"

 

- the member will be responsible for safeguarding their password. Barceló Hotel Group will not be held responsible for the consequences of potential illegal use of the member's password by a third party.

1. Objeto

The my Barceló Benefits Program is based on customers obtaining exclusive advantages by registering for the program and making reservations through barcelo.com and/or our Call Center, and then identifying themselves as a my Barceló Benefits member.

2. Beneficiaries

The beneficiaries of the my Barceló Benefits Program (hereinafter the "Holder") are individuals of legal age (identified by their personal data) registered in the my Barceló Benefits Program through the website www.barcelo.com  from the Barceló Call Center or in person through the hotel. In addition, at all registrations, the Account Holder will receive a registration confirmation email.

 

It is important to note that in the case of bookings that cover multiple rooms, the benefits of the program will be exclusively for the Booking Holder, who must be a physical person registered in the my Barceló Benefits Program and be staying at the same hotel and dates as the rest of the bookings on the same booking itinerary.

 

The Program reserves the right to terminate a Cardholder's my Barceló Benefits account immediately and without the possibility of restoration, and to hold the Account Holder liable for any improper or fraudulent use of the Program or to breach the rules and procedures contained in these general terms and conditions.

 

All reservation invoices will be paid with the credit card included in the reservation process. If there is no advanced payment, the balance payment will be required from the customer when they arrive at the hotel.

 


We would like to inform you that to obtain the best conditions and benefits as a company or organization, you have our portal for professionals,Barceló Pro at your disposal.

 

An invoice will not be issued in the name of companies for bookings made by a my Barceló Benefits holder, in order to issue a company invoice the booking must be made via BarcelóPro.

3. The account

Each Account Holder who participates in the my Barceló Benefits Program will be able to access a private members area within Barcelo.com where the corresponding movements of bookings made on Barcelo.com and the Barceló Call Center that affect their level (last 2 years) and the history of their bookings will be reflected.

 

The account will remain active as long as the customer does not unsubscribe from the program.

 

The customer can, at any moment, request and obtain a voluntary opt-out option in the personalized area.

 

3. The booking transactions generated by a Member may not be transferred to the account of another Member of the Program.

 

4. Members may not be changed.

4. Transactions

Bookings begin to be posted to the my Barceló Benefits account once the Account Holder has registered for the Program and has previously accessed or identified themselves as a my Barceló Benefits Account Holder.

 

Reservations made by people other than the Holder will not accrue points on the Holder's my Barceló Benefits account.

 

Only my Barceló reservations made by the Account Holder of my Barceló Benefits through Barcelo.com and/or Call Centers after access or identification are automatically accumulated for the calculation of level and application of benefits in stay my Barceló Benefits These will be added after the stay has been completed (the day after check-out).

 

If a reservation has been generated without previous login or identification in my Barceló, the my Barceló Benefits will not be applied during the stay and will automatically not be taken into account when calculating the my Barceló Program level. However, the registered Account Holder can import it into their my Barceló Benefits account from booking import (https://www.barcelo.com/es-es/bhg/importacion-de-reservas/)  taking into account the following specifications:

 

- Only bookings made on Barceló.com and our Call Center Barcelo with a check-out during the last 12 months, will be imported.

 

- The reservation must pertain to a hotel in the current Barceló Hotel Group portfolio.

 

- my Barceló Benefits, as the Barceló Hotel Group's international loyalty program, applies to all Barceló Hotel Group hotels in Europe, Latin America/the Caribbean, and Africa, except for the hotels specified in point 7 of these general terms and conditions.

 

- The email address and name of the Booking Holder must be the same as that of the Holder of the my Barceló Benefits account where the booking is to be imported.

 

- Flight plus hotel package reservations, those made on other websites, those made directly with the hotel, travel agencies, or other means other than Barcelo.com and Barceló Call Center cannot be imported into your my Barceló Benefits account.

 

 Considerations with respect to reservations booked in the my Barceló account:

 

- In case of two or more reservations with consecutive dates in the same hotel (check-out of one reservation = check-in of the next), only one reservation will be taken into account. However, the total amount spent at the cumulative amount counter level in the program will be taken into account.

 

- In the case of making two or more reservations under the account holder's name and account with the same date in the same hotel, only one reservation will be taken into account. However, the total amount spent at the cumulative amount counter level in the program will be taken into account.

5. Levels

There are currently 3 levels of my Barceló Benefits: my Barceló Essential, my Barceló Special, and my Barceló Unique.

 

- my Barceló Essential: this is the base level that is applied to a member after registering with my Barceló.

 

- my Barceló Special: this is the intermediate level that applies to a my Barceló Benefits Account Holder. To obtain or maintain the level, two criteria must be met: complete stays and have a valid expense. If only one of the criteria is met, it will be necessary to continue making reservations until both criteria are complete. The Account Holder must have enjoyed 2 stays and have spent 1,000 euros in a period of 24 months.

 

- my Barceló Unique: this is the most exclusive level that applies to a my Barceló Benefits Account Holder. To obtain or maintain the level, two criteria must be met: complete stays and have a valid expense. If only one of the criteria is met, it will be necessary to continue making reservations until both criteria are complete. The Account Holder must have enjoyed 2 stays and have spent 3,000 euros in a period of 24 months.

 

Maintenance and Level Degradation

 

If at the end of a 24-month tier period, an Account Holder does not meet the applicable criteria for their current tier, they will be downgraded to the next lower tier. This review period will begin from the moment the customer acquires a new level, either due to a level upgrade or due to a downgrade after a review period.

 

Stays are kept on the user's counter for 24 months from the date of check-out of these stays. Once this time has elapsed, the stays will be automatically deducted from the accumulated total.

 

Once the review period is activated, if a customer had not made any stays during that 2-year evaluation period, their counter would indicate 0, marking 0 stays and 0 accumulated expenses.

 

This can happen regardless of the level to which a my Barceló Benefits Account Holder has been downgraded, either to my Barceló Special or my Barceló Essential.

 

If a customer has made a stay during those 24 months, but it has not been sufficient to maintain their level, the Account Holder will be downgraded, but the stay will continue to be reflected in their counter until 24 months have elapsed since the relevant check-out.

 

Customers can check their progress at any time through their private my Barceló Benefits member's area, available on the official website or in the Barceló App by logging in or by signing in. In addition, periodic communications will be sent via email or through the private member's area on my Barceló Benefits itself to keep the customer informed about their status and progress within the program.

6. Benefits

Barceló Hotel Group offers its my Barceló Benefits Account Holders and, depending on their level in the Program, a complete package of advantages.

 

In order to benefit from the exclusive advantages of the Program, the Account Holder must make the booking through www.barcelo.com or the Call Center.

 

The exclusive benefits are intended solely and exclusively for the my Barceló Benefits Account Holder as the holder of the booking, so it is necessary for the Account Holder in the Program to make the bookings, after accessing or identifying themselves in my Barceló Benefits. In the case that a booking is made of several rooms, the benefits will only apply to the room where the Account Holder is staying.

Application of benefits:



To enjoy the benefits of direct booking (such as the additional discount on booking for accumulating stays) or the benefits of exclusive treatment during the stay, it is essential:

 

  1. Book now on Barcelo.com! Log in to the my Barceló Benefits area in step 1 (room selection) of the booking process.
  2. Bookings via Barceló Call Center: Identify yourself as a my Barceló Benefits customer when making the booking.

 

If the booking is made through Barceló's own channels, the benefits corresponding to the account holder's my Barceló Benefits level will be automatically applied in step 2 of the booking process, provided that they have previously logged in to the my Barceló Benefits area or have identified themselves during their booking in the Barceló Call Center.

 

Additional conditions:

  • Only one my Barceló benefits package will be applied per stay, regardless of the number of rooms in the booking.
  • The benefits only apply to the room in which the my Barceló account owner is staying.


 

Specifications of some my Barceló Benefits (limitations):

 

- Best price guaranteed: to apply the guarantee, the difference should be with an identical hotel booking, i.e. same hotel, same room type, same board basis, same dates, same number of guests, same currency, same price restrictions, for the entire stay, as well as the same rates, taxes, handling costs and other costs derived from the service that the other website includes in the booking. This difference must be communicated within 24 hours of the booking on barcelo.com in the help area of Barcelo.com.

 

Special requests: Benefits are always subject to availability when booking at www.barcelo.com. Minimum of 48 hours notice prior to the request. Currency exchange, requests for medication or medical assistance, shuttle services, non-accessible culinary products, upgrades, and other paid services offered by the hotel that are not listed are not considered special requests.

 

- Pre check-in online: does not eliminate the client identification process (providing ID documentation and collection of room key), which the hotel must carry out.

 

- Preferential check-in and check-out: Priority access to the my Barceló Benefits counter, subject to availability at the hotel, and does not exempt the Account Holder from the obligation to identify themselves with their identity document.

 

Welcome Minibar: limited to hotels with an in-room minibar. Does not include spirits (drinks) nor restocking.

 

- Late check-out: subject to availability, does not include a free extension of your accommodation package.

 

- Late check-out: subject to availability, does not include a free extension of your accommodation package.

 

Booking flexibility: Modify the dates of your booking with a non-refundable rate through our Customer Service. This benefit is exclusive to customers of the my Barceló Benefits loyalty program at the my Barceló Special and my Barceló Unique level. Modifications are applicable at least 7 days prior to check-in of the reservation and the new date of check-in must be at least 10 days after the time the change is made. Once the reservation is modified, it will remain non-refundable. In addition, the price, promotions, restrictions and availability at the time of the request by the customer will be updated. If the new total is lower, the price of the original reservation will be maintained. However, the hotel may authorize the refund of the difference or use the difference for consumption in hotel services.

 

- Barceló Voucher:For customers belonging to the my Barceló Benefits loyalty program with Unique or Intense Status, if for any reason you are unable to travel and do not have a new date in mind, Barceló offers a Credit Voucher that can be used in the same hotel or any other hotel of the Barceló group in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. You can request this by following this link: https://www.barcelo.com/en-us/help/ - I want to modify or cancel my reservation  at least 7 days before the check-in date and up to 24 hours before if it is with proof of force majeure.

 

- The advantages of the my Barceló Benefits Program are not available in flight plus hotel package bookings, those made on other websites, those made directly with the hotel, travel agencies, or other means other than Barcelo.com and Barceló Call Center, or in the hotels specified in point 7 of these general conditions.

- Discounts on extras at the Asia Gardens Hotel and Thai Spa only apply to some services.

7. Hotels

my Barceló Benefits, as the Barceló Hotel Group's international loyalty program, applies to all Barceló Hotel Group hotels in Europe, Latin America/Caribbean, and Africa, except Novo Resort The Residence Luxury Apartments by Barceló (Cádiz, Spain), Cuba (Caribbean) and hotels affiliated with the Dorint chain. The my Barceló benefits do not apply to reservations made at these hotels, nor do these reservations accumulate in the Holder's my Barceló account for purposes of calculating the Program level.

 

Although the my Barceló benefits are global, certain adjustments and/or customizations may apply, such as exceptions to how they are applied, based on the situation of each hotel.

8. Fraudulent use of the program

In the event that any fraudulent use or abuse of the Program by a User is detected, including, but not limited to, tampering with personal information, making fictitious or fraudulent bookings, attempting to obtain undue benefits through the Program, or suspecting that a third party is creating accounts on behalf of other persons, the hotel company reserves the absolute right to remove the user immediately and without prior notice. In addition, the hotel reserves the right to cancel all accumulated rewards and benefits associated with your participation in the program. The hotel company also reserves the right to take legal action against those users who engage in fraudulent or abusive practices.

 

Without prejudice to the aforementioned assumptions that are included in these terms and conditions, Barceló reserves the right to cancel the Beneficiary from the my Barceló Benefits program and therefore cancel the account and all its benefits in the following cases:

 

1. Making bookings under the account of a my Barceló Benefits Account Holder to other people, whether Account Holders or non-Account Holders, so that they benefit from the conditions of the Program, without the Account Holder staying in these stays.

 

2. That a legal entity is the Account Holder, and that reservations have been made through it to third parties. In addition, if a non-member shows up at the hotel, Barceló Hotel Group reserves the right to apply the rate without the discount applied for belonging to the program. 3. Breach of the Terms and Conditions of Barcelo.com (https://www.Barcelo.com/en-us/general-information/terms-conditions/?redirect=auto)

 

4. Failure to comply with the conditions during the stay at the hotel.

 

5. Engaging in inappropriate, disrespectful or offensive behavior towards Barceló Hotel Group, any of its hotels, employees, or customers.

 

In each case mentioned above, given that the Program is free of charge for the Account Holder, the Account Holder expressly waives any claim for damages against Barceló Hotel Group arising from the cancelation of its status as Account Holder and/or the Program.

9. Communications

As a member of the my Barceló Benefits Program, the cardholder will receive regular communications from Barceló Hotel Group, which will include exclusive offers and personalized promotions based on their interests, as well as important updates and news about the program.

The cardholder can manage their communication preferences through the 'PREFERENCES' section in the private area of my Barceló Benefits, after logging in. Here, you will be able to indicate your interests and choose the language in which you wish to be contacted.

10. Modifications and cancelations

1. Barceló Hotel Group reserves the right to modify, partially or totally, the current General Conditions.

 

2. The Account Holder can change his/her personal data from the private member's area of my Barceló Benefits on Barcelo.com.

 

3. The Account Holder may unsubscribe from the Program from the private member's area of my Barceló Benefits in Barcelo.com or by writing to Barceló Hotel Group (C/ Josep Rover Motta, nº 27, CP 07006, Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain) and by identifying themselves appropriately.

 

4. You can also unsubscribe from communications by using the link provided for this specific purpose in the newsletters sent from Barcelo Hotel Group. Once you have unsubscribed, you will not be able to receive them again, unless you create a new account in the Program.

11. Personal data protection

I.- Who is responsible for handling your data?

The entity in charge of your data is Barceló Gestión Hotelera, S.L. (hereinafter “BGH”) with registered office at c/ Josep Rover Motta, 27, 07006, of Palma de Mallorca. If you have any questions regarding data protection, please contact BGH's Data Protection Officer by email dpo@barcelo.com.

 

II.- Why are we handling your data?

BGH hereby informs the interested party that their data will be handled by Barceló for the following purposes: 

 

  1. Registration of the user with my Barceló Benefits. BGH will process the identifying information necessary to enable the user's registration in its my Barceló platform so that the user can enjoy certain discounts in the contracting of BGH products, consult information related to the hotels, or enjoy services only for my Barceló users.

 

If applicable, my Barceló Benefits users may:

  • Receive special gifts as a reward for using the benefits and special promotions offered by my Barceló.

 

Authentication: this processing will only be carried out if BGH has the user's consent given in one of the following ways:

 

Notwithstanding the foregoing, BGH may send or offer special gifts to my Barceló Benefits users based on a legitimate interest, taking into account the relationship between Barceló and the user and the use by the user of the special conditions offered by my Barceló Benefits. The guest shall have the right to object to this processing of personal data by following the instructions set out in Section V.

  1. Sending marketing communications. Barceló, for the purpose of performing the service requested by the user, may send personalized or commercial material regarding its products according to the information generated by the user with BGH, whether using the platform or not.

Such communications may be sent to the email address provided by the interested party, by SMS to the mobile phone number provided.  

 

Legitimization:  This process is necessary to satisfy BGH's legitimate interests. At any time the customer may object to their data being processed for this purpose by following the instructions set out in section V.

 

III.- How long will we keep your data?

Personal data that may be accessed shall be processed and kept as long as the contractual relationship exists or for the purposes for which they were gathered. After that, BGH shall keep the personal data once the contractual relationship has ended or when they are no longer relevant for the collected purposes, duly blocked, for making them available to the competent Public Administrations, Judges and Courts or the Attorney General's office during the limitation period of the actions that may arise from the relationship maintained with the user and/or the legally stipulated retention periods. Once those periods have elapsed, BGH shall proceed with the physical deletion of the data.

Likewise, if the user has not objected to the receipt of commercial communications, BGH may process the user's personal data as described in this informative clause.  You may unsubscribe from receiving such communications if you deem it appropriate through the means indicated in section V.   

If the user has provided their consent for the processing informed in this clause, BGH shall maintain its information as long as the user does not withdraw their initial consent, via the means indicated in section V.

 

IV.- Who will we share your data with?

BGH may disclose data to: 

  • Companies that own hotels, to meet the user's request. 
  • Competent Public Bodies, Judges and Courts. 
  • Besides the aforementioned data sharing, BGH works with third parties who provide services and have access to the personal data of the customers, which they process in representation and on behalf of BGH as a result of providing said services. To this end, BGH shall contract the provision of services by third parties that make use of their activity, for example, and not limited, in the following sectors: legal advice, multidisciplinary professional services, tech services, IT services. Suppliers include Salesforce Inc., a company located in the United States and covered by Privacy Shield.

 

V.- What rights do you require when providing us with your data?

Users may, if they wish, exercise their rights to access, amend, and delete their data, request that the processing of their data be limited, oppose them, request the portability of their data, and not be the subject of automated individual decisions, by doing the following:
 

  • By sending a written request to the postal address above. 
  • By emailing your request to dpo@barcelo.com.

Users may, concerning the processing that is based on getting their consent, withdraw their consent through the procedure described in the previous paragraph.

Users may request the opposition to that processing based on BGH's legitimate interest, especially when it comes to receiving commercial communication, the creation of commercial profiles, and receiving surveys.

 

VI.- How have we obtained your data?

The personal data that BGH processes are the personal data collected through the forms provided for registration in the my Barceló Benefits Program. 

 

VII.- With which authority can you exercise your right to claim?

Users may file a claim with the Spanish Data Protection Agency in relation to the response they have received from BGH in supporting their rights.

In any case, the user is informed that the management of complaints regarding processing personal data will be handled by the Data Protection Officer of Barceló Hotel Group, located at c/ Josep Rover Motta, 27, 07006, in Palma de Mallorca or by sending an email to dpo@barcelo.com, attaching in both cases to the request, a copy of your DNI, NIF, or official document that identifies you.

 

11. Applicable law and jurisdiction
