Mexican Pacific

Mexico's Pacific coast has little to envy from its Caribbean neighbour, and a good example of this is Playa Santa Maria in Los Cabos, a paradise of crystal clear water with perfect waves, which are not too rough and not too calm. Another gem is "Playa del Amor" (Love Beach), also known as the "Hidden Beach", which is of such outstanding natural value that it has a daily capacity to ensure its protection. Located in the Marietas Islands National Park in Nayarit, just off the coast from Puerto Vallarta, a visit to this natural wonder can be combined with a trip to La Napolera beach on the neighbouring island.

Another spectacular beach on the Pacific coast is El Órgano, one of the many that make up the bay of Huatulco, in the state of Oaxaca, and which is characterised by its tranquillity, fine sand and crystal clear turquoise waters. A great way to reach this area is by sea, as hiring a boat not only allows you to observe the coastline in all its beauty, but also to visit other beaches and even see dolphins and turtles in their natural habitat.

There are still undiscovered places on Mexico's Pacific coast, unique enclaves that hide some of the most incredible cultural treasures in the world, all of which can be enjoyed without compromising on the comfort of a stay in a hotel or resort on the coastline.

Riviera Nayarit is one of those fascinating places that offers a wide range of options, from unspoilt beaches and mountainous landscapes to unique fishing villages and towns. Isla Isabel National Park is another stunning destination where you can admire the wonders of the marine world, including manta rays, humpback whales, spectacular coral reefs and more than 79 different species of fish. 

For a true rainforest experience, Sierra del Vallejo is one of the best-preserved areas on Mexico's Pacific coast and was declared a Protected Natural Area in 2012. However, if there is one destination that really inspires tourists, it's Mexcaltitán Island, a large expanse of wetlands with a surprising biosphere that can only be accessed by the San Pedro River. This magical town is considered to be the birthplace of the Mexican identity, cradle of the Aztec civilisation.
