1. Booking general terms and conditions


Terms and conditions of booking

Your booking will be guaranteed by your CREDIT CARD.

In the case of offers, promotions, special rates, non-refundable and restricted rates, from the time that the booking is made or from the time that restrictions are applied, a secure deposit may be charged using our POS, which will be subtracted from the final bill at the hotel. As an additional guarantee, your credit card details will be stored in a secure and confidential manner. Barceló Group is committed to keeping the information provided by the customer under the strictest confidence. If you have to pay part or all the booking cost at the hotel on arrival, we may require that you pay on the day of your arrival (check-in date).

If you wish to CHANGE OR CANCEL your booking, you must do so in advance before the original booking check-in date as specified in the particular conditions for the selected rate or offer. Otherwise the corresponding charges specified will be applied.

Once you have booked, please print YOUR BOOKING, which is proof of the services you have bought and the booking you have made. Retain this voucher and present it to the hotel reception upon arrival. In the event of not providing the voucher at the hotel, the hotel will not be responsible for any error regarding your booking, including the rate booked, number of guests and/or services booked. Note down the booking CONFIRMATION NUMBER, as you will need it to access the booking information if you wish to change, modify or cancel your booking.

Please remember that everyone (including children) who is going to stay in the hotel must have a PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENT, as well as official and current documents to verify:

  • that the booking terms and conditions have been complied with, such as the age of children and the identity of the occupants of the room, as specified in the booking
  • that the terms and conditions of any discounts applied to the booking are complied with
  • that, if a prepayment was made, the guest is the credit/debit card holder

This document will be requested by the hotel reception upon arrival. In the event of failure to provide such proof or to meet any of the conditions stated above, the hotel reserves the right to charge you 100% of your stay even when prepayments have been made, and in addition to charge for the amounts previously discounted.

The BOOKING PAYMENT must be made in the hotel’s currency. The prices in other currencies shown in brackets just below the price in the hotel's currency, and featuring in the booking process and booking voucher, are merely informative prices and are subject to the variations in exchange rates of each day.

Accommodation types

As a general rule, drinks are not included for half-board bookings (breakfast and dinner) and full-board bookings (breakfast, lunch and dinner). For the All Inclusive accommodation type, please note that the services included are detailed in the specific booking terms and conditions.

Rates

Prices including the word “from” are calculated for 2 people occupying one room. If the booking is made for a higher or lower number of guests per room the price may vary. Prices are only valid for individual bookings; they are not applicable to groups or special events.

All the rates shown include the taxes in force at the time of formalising the booking. However, after formalising the booking, any possible increase of indirect tax or fee applicable (such as, but not limited to, the VAT or IGIC), or any new applicable rate, tax or any type of contribution that the contracted services may imply, will be applied and therefore the rates shown may be increased by the legally corresponding amount.

The customer’s personal information will be incorporated into automatic files that are owned by the Barceló Group with the aim of managing the booking and to offer them promotional information concerning products, services, offers and promotions relating to the tourist activity and any other activity linked to the customer’s conditions.

As the user, you expressly authorise Barceló to pass or exchange these details to societies of “Grupo de Empresas Barceló” (Barceló Companies Group) for the purposes of advertising campaigns, marketing, television studios, goods and services offers and, in general, for the contracting of other services which are analogous, complementary or related to its company purpose. In accordance with article 22 of the Law 34/2002 of 11 July of the Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce Act (LSSI), Barceló and its group of companies will communicate their intention to send you commercial communications by email or any other equivalent electronic means.

It is our understanding that, through this communication, you have knowledge of this intention and give your consent to receiving any of the aforementioned information.

We would also like to inform you that you can exercise their right to access your data, rectify it, cancel and/or oppose its processing, in compliance with Organic Law 15/1999 of 13 December on personal data protection, by writing to the Data Security Protection Committee at the following address:

2. Contracting


After the booking is confirmed, customers are asked to check the details of the booking, to make sure all the information has been correctly entered; if details need to be corrected, please contact the operator with whom you made your booking.

2.1 Booking confirmation

A transaction of 1 MONETARY UNIT (Euro, Dollar, Pounds) will be displayed in the guest’s account when the booking is confirmed, in order to check the card details entered. This amount will be returned in a short time, which varies according to the bank. In the case of bookings guaranteed by card in Mexican pesos, one peso of the total amount of the stay will be deducted at the time of booking.

Through the provision of the bank card details, the customer authorises this charge, as well as the charge to the card of prepayments, unpaid amounts and penalties in accordance with the cancellation policy. Barceló Group is committed to keeping the information provided by the customer under the strictest confidence.

2.2 No show

Except when the cancellation has been made in accordance with the above paragraphs, if the customer does not arrive at the hotel (a no show) before 18.00 (local time at the hotel) on the day booked to arrive at the hotel, the booking will be cancelled automatically and the customer will be charged the amount indicated in the NO SHOW section included in the TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE RATE applicable to the booking.

If no specific provision is indicated in the NO SHOW section of the TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE RATE, by default the customer will be charged an amount equivalent to the price of the first night’s stay for the booking.

If you foresee that you will arrive at the hotel later than 18.00 on the day of arrival (local time at the hotel), please contact the hotel directly (using the contact information that appears on the booking voucher) to advise them of this circumstance.


3. Data Protection Clause for Online Customers


3.1. The customer’s personal information will be incorporated into automatic files that are owned by the Barceló Group with the aim of managing the booking and to offer them promotional information concerning products, services, offers and promotions relating to the tourist activity and any other activity linked to the customer’s conditions.

3.2. 4. Transactions


4.1. As of 23 January 2007, everyone travelling by plane between the USA, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda, including U.S. citizens, must carry a valid passport. The maximum amount for cash payments is USD 1,500.

4.2. All charges made to credit cards in hotels in the Czech Republic, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Cuba are made in the local currency at the daily exchange rate.

4.3. Due to fluctuations in exchange rates and possible bank charges, there may be a slight difference between the price at the time of payment and when you receive your card statement.

4.4. Regulation exclusively for Spanish hotels: cash payment limit. In accordance with Law 7/2012 of 29 October, which modifies the tax and budgetary regulations and updates the financial regulations for intensifying actions for preventing and combating fraud, transactions involving sums of €1,000 and above or the equivalent value in any foreign currency may not be paid in cash. Said amount shall be €10,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency if the paying party is an individual able to prove that they do not have their tax domicile in Spain and are not acting as an employer or in a professional capacity. For such transactions, payments below these limits may not be made.

4.5. In the case of non-Spanish residents, the paying party must sign a declaration at the hotel when paying and show proof of their tax residence (valid passport, valid certificate issued by the corresponding tax authority in their country). For transactions not paid in cash, the parties involved must retain the payment receipts for a period of 5 years from the date of receipt to certify that a method of payment other than cash was used. The involved parties are also obliged to present these receipts to the State Tax Authority when required.


5. Modification of the Terms and Conditions


Barceló Hotel Group reserves the right to modify, in total or partially, these General Terms and Conditions.


6. Legal information


For the purposes of the provisions of Art. 10.1 of the society of information and electronic commerce Act 34/2002 of 11 July, BARCELÓ GESTIÓN HOTELERA S.L. is established as the service provider, with registered address in Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Spain), C/ Josep Rover Motta, nº 27, CP 07006, holder of Corporate Tax Code B-07.918.287, registered in the Mallorca Companies’ Register, Page 62, Volume 1606, Section 8, Page PM-30.506, 1st inscription. Tax Information

The booking made via Barceló Group will be billed by the operating subsidiary of the hotel as the entity responsible for both providing the services booked by you under this booking and its charge.
