Chichen Itza

Historic Mayan city and World Heritage Site

Chichen Itza is one of the most famous Mayan ruins, recognized as a World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The pyramid of Kukulkan, with its phenomenon of light and shadow that creates the illusion of a descending serpent at the equinoxes, is one of the most iconic monuments in Mexico and represents the splendor of the Mayan civilization.

Cenotes

An entrance to another world

Cenotes are unique geological formations that arose from the impact of a meteorite about 66 million years ago in the Yucatan Peninsula, an event that is associated with the extinction of the dinosaurs. This impact created a network of cenotes in the region, and the ancient Maya considered them sacred, calling them "abysses." Immersing yourself in them is like entering a different and enigmatic world.

Coba

A treasure covered by the jungle

Coba was a Mayan ceremonial city that reached its peak in the Classic period, before the splendor of Chichen Itza. It is home to the Nohoch Mul Temple, the tallest structure in the region at 42 meters high. Hidden and protected by the jungle, this ancient city preserves its sacred paths, called sacbeob, which connected it to other Mayan cities.

Tulum

A door to the Mayan past

With views of the Caribbean Sea and the ruin of "El Castillo" as its main attraction, Tulum was a walled city and an important commercial port in the late post-classic period. This city prospered thanks to its strategic location and is one of the few Mayan archaeological sites facing the sea, as well as being one of the first places in Mexico where you can see the sunrise.

The Bull Shark

Majesty and nobility

The Mesoamerican reef, the second largest in the world, is home to bull sharks that migrate to the region during the winter to breed. Although intimidating, these sharks of up to 3 meters and 300 kilos are noble, majestic, and vital to the marine ecosystem.
