A trip to the capital of Spain mustn’t fail to include one of its amusement parks, above all if you’re visiting Madrid with children. Although they are very different, some recommendations apply to both. To avoid queues at the ticket desks, it’s best to purchase tickets in advance, and we recommend bringing hats for the kids, water and sunscreen. That way you’ll be ready to enjoy a great day of adventure and excitement! 

Parque Warner de Madrid

March is when the season opens for Parque Warner de Madrid, where visitors can see superheroes from the League of Justice and Looney Tunes and Hanna Barbera characters performing in musicals and in the shows organised by specialists replete with explosions and fights in classic Hollywood style. At Parque Warner you can walk through the streets of Hollywood or New York, cross the Wild West, be part of a Looney Tunes cartoon and feel like a superhero in Gotham City or Metrópolis.  

One of its strong points are its musicals, with live singing, street animations and exclusive shows with skilled performers. The Crazy Police Academy has pursuits, fights, acrobatics, explosions and free falls with tons of speed, action and risk, whilst the Gotham City Stunt Show is a recreation of a fight between Batman and Joker. In fact, it is the only place in Europe where you can meet superheroes from DC Comics such as Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, Batman and Wonder Woman. 

 

 

However, Parque Warner isn’t just about shows. It has also been a pioneer in incorporating virtual reality glasses into its real rollercoasters for pure adrenaline! 

The Haunted House at Parque Warner is dedicated to the famous The Conjuring Universe saga, recreating its most famous scenes. 

In order to make your visit to the park more convenient, so you can enjoy more attractions, different types of Correcaminos passes are available, which give you exclusive access to certain attractions. A day out at the park is rounded off with the Celebration Parade, a great procession brimming with characters, their vehicles and themed floats, which parade through the park’s streets. 

And when it gets hot in Madrid it’s time for the Parque Warner Beach to open. Accessed through a separate entrance, the best way to beat the heat is by enjoying its water attractions and a natural sand beach with wave pools. The rides are divided into intense, moderate and soft categories. You can hire towels and leave your belongings in the cloakroom, and the hammocks are free to use and distributed throughout the whole complex. As far as eating goes, there are à la carte, self-service, buffet and fast food options. 

Parque de Atracciones de Madrid

Parque de Atracciones de Madrid offers visitors over 30 attractions, activities and musical shows both for relaxing family days out and for unleashing some adrenaline. Located in the Casa de Campo, it is the only urban amusement park that can be accessed by Metro. It offers a combination of rapid and exciting rollercoasters, such as Abismo and Vértigo, with the true spirit of a classic amusement park.  

The park is divided into different zones adapted to each visitor profile: 

  • Maquinismo: This zone is dedicate to those looking for real excitement. The most daring can enjoy spectacular state-of-the-art rollercoasters such as Abismo, which stands at 49 metres tall and has a maximum speed of 100 km/h. It also boasts other rides such La Lanzadera—the best way to experience safe bungee jumping with an 80-km/h free fall from a height of 63 metres, or the inverted rollercoaster Tornado, which boasts fast-paced loops, turns, climbs and descents. La Máquina, the Sillas Voladoras, the Cueva de las Tarántulas and Top Spin are some of the favourite rides of younger kids.  
  • Naturaleza: In this zone, visitors can enjoy the surroundings of Madrid’s Casa de Campo, together with water rides such as Los Rápidos and Los Fiordos, and rollercoasters such as Vértigo. There is also a 4D cinema that projects films for the whole family, such as The Little Prince.  
  • Nickelodeon Land: A themed zone aimed at children and families, where characters from PAW Patrol, Sponge Bob, Dora the Explorer and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles amble around among the children’s attractions, so that the kids can have their photos taken with them. You can also visit the Pineapple house in Bikini Bottom, ride a little train or have a go on the PAW Patrol rollercoaster.  
  • Tranquilidad: Here you will find a variety of restaurants, snack bars and green spaces, in addition to the Star Flyer, an 80-metre tall ride, equivalent to a 25-storey building. On the same square is also the terrifying The Walking Dead Experience, the series’ only official attraction in Europe. Those who dare to enter can walk through the hospital, the Governor’s house, the prison and Terminus station, among others.
