What will you experience at the museum?
The aim of the museum's creators was to highlight the most interesting milestones of Prague's history and present them to visitors in the most enjoyable experiential form. Here, you'll experience the era of knights and kings, the military leader Jan Žižka and the Hussites, medieval torture (don't worry, you'll likely avoid practical demonstrations), as well as the construction of the Old Town Hall and the Astronomical Clock. In the dimly lit halls of the museum, the towering figure of the Golem remains silently enigmatic, a relic of ancient mysticism and folklore.
The second floor will take you through tougher times. You'll revisit the era of Nazi occupation, witness the bombing of Prague, followed by the Soviet occupation. You'll also see how interrogations of communists and espionage were conducted everywhere and at all times.
Fortunately, there's still the third floor, marked by the euphoric Velvet Revolution. You'll take pride in the presentation of Czech global achievements; in the cinema hall, you can find inspiration for further trips in Prague, and since you're on the third floor, a beautiful view awaits you as well.
The museum also features a hidden room and additional exhibits not found in any photographs. Expect not dry exhibits with even drier descriptions. In Story of Prague, you will be at the heart of the action. It blends elements of mixed reality, showcasing authentic stories through film installations and audio elements. Exploring the museum is individualized; allocate approximately 60 to 90 minutes for it. However, you are by no means constrained; feel free to linger longer, leisurely traversing everything at your own pace.
