About
The visit starts at the Forum. It was the center of the ancient city. All civic life was concentrated in the Roman Forum, which was the place where trade and politics took place, justice was dispensed, the gods were worshiped and social relations developed.
You will be able to differentiate, from the hand of your guide, the remains of different buildings, temples, and areas of the forum such as the "Roman Curia" the "arches of Septimius and Titus" or the "temple of Julius Caesar". From here you can see Palatine Hill. Here is the imperial residence and you can tour the different spaces of these impressive ruins. Do not miss the Palatine Museum which contains pieces of great interest that will help you better understand what you are seeing.
Afterward, the tour continues with the visit to the Colosseum. It was the place of public entertainment in Roman times. Up to 50,000 spectators would gather here to watch gladiatorial games, sea battles, or animal fights. Its interior was divided into five levels in which attendees were separated according to social class: increasing their social rank the closer they were to the arena.
The Colosseum was built during the 70s and 80s AD. and has a height of 48.50 meters and an area of 24000m2. The views from the top are impressive, especially if you imagine the gladiators fighting several meters below your feet.
