Cancun is a world-renowned tourist destination, a city that receives millions of visitors every year. People from all over the world come to this jewel of the Mexican Caribbean attracted by its incredible beaches, its fantastic accommodations and restaurants, by its shopping venues, its archaeological sites and adventure activities, by its magical cenotes… and, of course, by its unparalleled nightlife. The party in Cancun is nothing short of legendary!

Both in the Hotel Zone and the city you can find a thousand things to see and do, and this includes, of course, all kinds of bars and nightclubs. There are options for all tastes and budgets: from more intimate and romantic places to share an unforgettable moment with that special someone, to world-famous nightclubs. The big discos are mainly concentrated in the Punta Cancun area –all lined up, one after the other– and they’ve become authentic party temples.  Every night, thousands of people enjoy the music of the best DJs, dancing, and just letting the energy flow till the sun comes up.

Señor Frog’s. A classic

Party, party, and more party, without complications, this is Señor Frog’s, a true “classic” of Cancun. This place is actually a restaurant, but not just any restaurant. Its fun combination of good food, good drinks, good music, and good humor has made this place a party icon since its doors opened, back in 1990. More than 20 years of non-stop pachanga!

As the night moves on, the Frog’s –as everyone knows it– gradually transforms, “hiding” its role as a restaurant to become a super party. So don’t be surprised if you end up dancing the hits of the moment on top of a table or following the conga line to the nearest bottle of tequila. Or, as they say: at Señor Frog’s, the only rule to follow is not to follow any rules!

Coco Bongo. Quite a show

Thanks to its incredible show and the great atmosphere, this particular combination of a disco, a music concert, a theater, and a Cirque du Soleil-type show is one of the indisputable “musts” of any night in Cancun. Acrobats, dancers, giant screens, lights, music, tributes to great stars of music and cinema… you name it, it’s all in there!

Coco Bongo is the most famous nightclub in Cancun, and possibly in all of Mexico, and you can enjoy its great show, the open bar (until 3:30 am, then you have to pay for each drink), the music and all the good vibes that are lived inside in two modalities: regular entry and Gold Member entry, a premium service that offers you different advantages, such as special access to avoid the lines, a place in the reserved area that is located on the upper level – with a better view of the show – and Premium open bar until 4:00 am, among other options. In any case, it is a place that you have to know.

Mandala. The exotic touch

Neighboring Coco Bongo, this nightclub has been an exceptional party, any day of the week, for over a decade. The best music and all the display of lights and sound make it a perfect place to dance and enjoy the night to the fullest. A curious thing is that its facade is open to the street, so you just have to pass by in front of the club to see the atmosphere inside. It will surely make you want to enter! The interior decoration, which transports you to an exotic oriental atmosphere, full of mystery and glamor, makes Mandala an even more special venue.

Besides the fine music, the style, the great atmosphere, and the theme nights that have always characterized this Cancun club, a food service area has recently been implemented. So, there’s no problem if you feel hungry in the middle of the fiesta. More than a disco, Mandala is an experience.

The City. The biggest

Divided into three levels, with 9 bars and a capacity of about 5,000 people, this is one of the largest nightclubs in Latin America and one of the main party venues in Cancun. But, beware; this gigantic party is only open on Fridays, so organize your plans to avoid missing the opportunity to enjoy its unmatched display.

The open bar, the national and international DJs –stars such as Steve Aoki or Diplo, among many others, have performed at The City–, the state-of-the-art lighting equipment, and the energy of so many people –especially at their Spring Break mega-parties– represent the trademark of this exciting nightclub located right next door to Mandala.

Palazzo. Glamor to the max

The fourth disco in the row (although it is not as close as the other three) is this club, one of the most glamorous in Cancun. Open 2 nights a week –Wednesdays and Saturdays–, Palazzo is characterized by its elegant decoration and the feeling of luxury and exclusivity that it transmits. The best electronic music is in charge of maintaining a high-level energy throughout the night.

Something that makes this club unique is its theme parties, such as the Electric Party, a night full of neon lights, music, drinks, and dancers that glow in the dark. Or the Red District Night, a dark and very sexy evening. Palazzo is definitely a place you have to visit if you want to enjoy the best of Cancun’s remarkable nightlife.

La Vaquita. A crazy night

Across Blvd. Kukulkan, right in front of the big clubs, you can enjoy a super fun night, any day of the week, without any formality, in this half bar, half nightclub open to the street. With a more hip-hop and reggaeton vibe, and a relaxed and wild atmosphere, La Vaquita is the place to live your craziest night.

Besides its quirky decoration full of cows and its go-go dancers, MCs, and fun theme parties, this unconventional place serves its open bar drinks in huge  1-liter/34-oz plastic tumblers. So you won’t get thirsty! In short, La Vaquita is a crazy spot where you can have an extremely entertaining evening.

Congo Bar. Party time!

Right next to La Vaquita, there’s another one of these very Cancunish disco bars that are open to the street.  A place that offers you an unforgettable night in a relaxed and super fun atmosphere. Their motto is also “party, party and more party”, so, in this crazy club, you will see the shots come and go between the go-go dancers and the confetti rain. And always with the best music cranked up to full volume.

The Congo Bar is the “little brother” of Coco Bongo, so you can imagine that they put up quite a staggering show as well, with dancers and acrobatic stunts included. Not as much as the “big brother”, but not bad at all. Also, while having fun, don’t forget to enjoy their delicious snack: nachos, nuggets, fries, onion rings, etc.
