What to see in Oviedo in 1 day

Oviedo, as the capital of the Principality of Asturias, has many attractions. There are those related to historical or artistic themes, gastronomy, festivals, crafts … What can you do in Oviedo in a single day? There are many possibilities and little time, but, as the size of the city is not exaggerated, we can make the most of the city and get an idea of the treasures it hides.

We suggest that you walk slowly through the pedestrian center of Oviedo, because this is where the essence of the city and most of its artistic heritage is found. The filmmaker Woody Allen, winner of one of the prestigious Prince of Asturias awards, described Oviedo as “a fairytale city where everything is old, clean and pleasant…”. The director of “Annie Hall” launched a promotional campaign and the city returned him with a famous bronze statue, one of the more than 100 that are scattered throughout its historic center.

Below, we recommend some places you have to visit in Oviedo if you only have one day. Just don’t beat yourself up. Combine the cultural, artistic and architectural proposals with a quiet and relaxed walk. You will discover monuments, unique stores, pre-Romanesque churches, theaters and plenty of restaurants and cider bars.
