Get away from the bustling city & spend some relaxing time on the Olympic Mountain of Montjuïc - Barcelona´s green lung.
We will start at the exhibition ground of the World Fair of 1929 close to iconic Plaça Espanya. Ascending the hill, you will learn about this important event in the cities´ history. While standing in front of a palace that houses the Catalan modern art museum you will have a great photo moment with amazing views.
From there we will cross the Olympic Ring with its art and see the Olympic Stadium where the Games of 1992 were held. We will explain the everlasting impact on the city before we climb up to the top of the hill.
Passing by the Botanical Garden we will also have a glimpse into the famous cemetery of Barcelona. Once on the top we may have a break in a hidden beer garden under pine trees - if open & the weather allows.
The walk continues on a non-touristy path around the castle of Montjuïc to a breath-taking viewing point. Here you can also understand why the mountain has always been a natural watch tower & helped guarding the city.
Strolling down the slopes of the hill we will arrive to the multi-cultural quarter of Poble Sec. Its chaotic lay-out gives the area a distinctive atmosphere that is nowadays very trendy among young people. We will finish the walk in the famous Calle Blai in one of the local Pinchos bars serving popular snacks.
