Excursion to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, Bermeo, Mundaca and Gernika with txakoli tasting from Bilbao

Spend a magical day looking at the Cantabrian Sea in San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, Bermeo and Mundaka, and soaking up Basque history in Gernika. We will meet next to the Puppy sculpture in Bilbao and travel directly to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, the first destination, where one of the key scenes in the series Game of Thrones awaits us. Does Rocadragon ring a bell? To reach the hermitage, located at the top, you will have to put on your sneakers and cross a stone bridge with 241 stairs. Normally, an access authorization is required, but with this activity it is guaranteed. Prepare your camera because you will have panoramic views over the cliffs of Bakio. Disconnect, relax and recharge your batteries while enjoying the show with the sea breeze caressing you. We will continue with the route going to the Basque coast, in Bermeo, where you will do a walking tour with the guide, who will explain the most relevant moments of its past, going back to the time of whale fishing. After a guided walk through Mundaka, another of the stops, you can take the opportunity to have lunch in the area and try some typical seafood dishes. The next stop will bring you closer to the history of the Basque people; we are talking about Gernika. Visit the air-raid shelters, the Guernica tree and the mural with the reproduction of Picasso's emblematic painting of the bombing, and listen to the anecdotes that this town, located in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, treasures. To close the excursion in style, we will go to the Berroja Winery to enjoy a tasting and learn the secrets of the local wine: txakoli. At the end of the tour, we will return to Bilbao in the afternoon.
