Amazing kayaking journey to discover the mouth of the Guadalquivir River and the breathtaking landscapes of Doñana Natural Park
Our adventure begins at Bajo de Guía beach. We'll cross the Guadalquivir River, departing from the Sanlúcar shore in Cádiz and arriving at Doñana in Huelva province. As we depart, admire the stunning panoramic views of Sanlúcar, including the distinct upper and lower neighborhoods, the historic Santiago Castle, and the majestic main churches.
Depending on the current, your expert guide will choose the most favorable route for a smooth return journey. Here are the exciting possibilities:
Guadalquivir River Route: Paddle north alongside the Doñana shoreline, enjoying the vastness of Europe's largest unspoiled beach. We'll reach a small tidal marsh teeming with birdlife, including grey herons, egrets, black-necked grebes, and of course, seagulls. Keep your eyes peeled – with a bit of luck, you might even spot deer or wild boar!
Malandar Route: Head west on the Doñana banks towards Punta de Malandar, the final beach at the mouth of the Guadalquivir. Experience the magic of this unique location as it opens up to the vast ocean. Bordering the Doñana Natural Park's beach area, with a touch of fortune, you might glimpse deer or wild boar venturing down to the shore.
This activity is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels. No prior kayaking experience is necessary! A basic level of fitness, similar to what you use for walking or occasional sports, is all you need.
