Description

Discover the hidden treasures of the magnificent island of Lanzarote.

First of all we will visit the impressive”Timanfaya National Park“doing the”Volcano Route” in which we see different types of craters combined by a vivid chromatism that reflects the origin of the eruption, the materials it emitted or even the intensity with which it exploded. We will check the footprint of these eruptions that occurred almost 300 years ago by carrying out geothermal demonstrations, that is, we will check the heat that still emanates from the Earth in different ways, all of them very spectacular.

Our next visit is the”Cueva de los Verdes”, a volcanic structure found in the municipality of Haria in the north of Lanzarote. It is a volcanic tube that originates from the eruption of the La Corona Volcano and was formed approximately 5000 years ago (before the Fuego Mountains National Park - Timanfaya), when very fluid lava descended below more compact lava, creating a large elongated cavity. This volcanic tube has a total length of seven kilometers from the Corona volcano to the coast and extends under the sea for another 1.5 km.

As a final culmination, we visited the spectacular volcanic cave of the”Jameos del Agua“, also transformed by the Lanzarote artist “César Manrique “and which aims to show the visitor a space for contemplating nature that has barely been intervened by man.

The “Jameos del Agua “is a huge hole that occurs as a result of the sinking of the roof of a volcanic tube and located inside the volcanic tunnel caused by the eruption of the Corona Volcano. The tunnel has a known length of 6 km, of which at least 1.5 km run under the sea surface. The Jameos del Agua are located in the section of this tunnel closest to the coast.

An excursion that will not leave you indifferent when you visit the 3 great TREASURES that this magical Canarian island hides.
