Description
Going up through the town of Tamarolio, we will enter the area called medianías, a vast area that encompasses several municipalities located at an altitude of between 600 and 1,500 meters and that surprises all our visitors with its greenery and crops, a landscape that will accompany us for much of the day, very different from the one we are used to in the south of the island, and where important agricultural and livestock activity is carried out. Our destination, the charming towns of Teror and San Mateo, where two traditional markets take place on Sundays.
- Teror: Town with a well-kept historic center in which there is the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pine, patron saint of the diocese of the Canary Islands, as well as magnificent stately homes and Canarian-style palaces that attest to the historical importance of this town. Its lively street market combines local products with crafts, clothing and souvenirs. It's a pleasure to combine shopping and a walk through its pedestrianized streets
- Vega de San Mateo: A town with a marked agricultural and livestock character where on Sundays there is a very interesting market offering local gastronomic products, fruits, vegetables, cheese, nuts, spices... An explosion of smells and flavors that you cannot miss, accompanied by musical performances that invite you to dance
The two visits, together with the panoramic tour through cultivated fields in the fertile midlands, make this excursion a gift for our senses. Enjoy this Sunday atmosphere with us.
