Discover the north of the island on a hiking route through two of the most TOP natural areas in Lanzarote.
This route takes place in the northern part of the island where two protected natural areas are covered; The Natural Monument of La Corona Volcano and The Cliffs ofFamarawithin the Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park.
We started in the town of Ye from where we headed to the Corona volcano. During the ascent to its crater, we will be delighted with beautiful views of an agrarian landscape dedicated mainly to vines, as well as the spectacular lava flows called malpais with huge basaltic blocks stretching towards an emerald sea. After seeing its enormous crater, we will surround it on its east side to be able to observe in the distance how its 7.6 km long volcanic tube runs, of which 1.6 km are currently submerged because this eruption occurred during the peak of the last ice age when the sea level was more than 90 meters below the current one.
Later we will descend and walk a few kilometres in the central part of the Famara Cliff, which, with its 22km long, rises like an impressive rock wall from sea level to more than 500 meters high, and the top of the island can be seen a short distance from us; Las Peñas del Chachewith its 670 m and the wonderful view of theChinijo Archipelago as a whole with the island of La Graciosa in the first place, truly unforgettable!!!
Due to the altitude and the influence of trade winds, during this tour, visitors will be able to enjoy one of the areas with the greatest diversity, both floristic, with a large number of endemic species, and ornithological, that our naturalist guide will show you.
