Description
Join us on a guided biking tour on an awesome day trip from Madrid into the norther mountain range. Full immersion into nature, arts and the grand architecture of the Imperial Palace, its basilica and tomb of all the Kings of Spain. Not only that, El Escorial granite walls treasure the world's most important library just after the Vatican's.
The Royal Site of San Lorenzo de El Escorial lays 50 km - 31 ml to the north-west away from Madrid. The tour starts at our office in Madrid. We’ll take a train or mini-bus (depending on the number of participants) and you’ll have a chance to explore the 16th-century monastery and its vast collection of priceless paintings (El Greco, Ribera, Tizian). We’ll spend the rest of the day riding through the surrounding countryside. It’s a beautiful route along the foresty foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama, and we’ll stop along the way for a delicious three-course lunch (optional). The day ends with another leisurely cycle through some quaint local villages, before we head back to Madrid the same means as we arrived here.
Política sanitaria y de seguridadWhile all of our tours are conducted at a leisurely pace, we want our clients to have fun and be safe, so knowing how to ride a bike well is paramount.
All of our bike tours are perfect for skilled cyclists. You must have excellent balance, be able to start and stop comfortably, and be familiar with hand brakes. We will be riding on paved and unpaved (gravel) roads, sometimes uneven. Safety is our number one priority, but self-confidence is the first step to overall group safety.
If you are unsure, we invite you to come to our office about 20 minutes before your tour start time to test ride the bikes. There are no refunds for last-minute cancellations!
Please contract a travel and medical insurance (check your travel insurance, if it covers bike tours up to 1000 meters above sea level).
Our bikes and other equipment must be returned at the end of the guided tour in the same condition as they were delivered. We will charge you for any repairs that are necessary due to negligent handling of the bicycles.
