These fascinating caves, discovered just a few minutes from Palma in 1906, were a hidden treasure waiting to be unveiled. In prehistoric times, Mallorca's natural caves served as both shelter and refuge. Today, they captivate visitors with their breathtaking beauty, sculpted by water over countless centuries. Imagine towering domes, majestic columns, glistening pools, and winding tunnels.
Reopened to the public just a few years ago, the Genova Caves hold the distinction of being closest to the Balearic capital. Their convenient location within Palma's residential Genova neighbourhood makes them easily accessible to visitors.
Like other caves and caverns in Mallorca, the Genova Caves are a network of underground galleries formed from calcium deposits. These galleries are naturally connected by corridors, creating a captivating subterranean labyrinth.
The guided tour takes place in small groups, venturing down illuminated passages that reach depths of up to 36 meters.
