The history of the house and gardens stretches back to the era of Arab rule.
Originally built in the Gothic style with a pronounced rural and fortified character, the houses were initially structured around an enclosed courtyard. A tower was added in the 16th century. The grand 18th-century renovation bestowed upon Alfabia its defining Baroque elements. This extensive project significantly expanded the original houses, introducing a new layout and decoration while preserving the essence of a rural dwelling. The second half of the 19th century saw another significant intervention that altered aspects of the previous reforms.
