Being an island, Majorca is surrounded by water (and beaches). However, it is also home to a wide range of water parks. Many people like to have a dip in sweet water when they go on a fun day out. Enjoying the water slides, swimming pools, trampolines and other attractions found in these water parks is certainly a trend that is on the rise.

Majorca has three large water parks for bathers wanting to have a good time. They’ll enjoy taking a dip in sweet water and negotiating rapids, pools and whirlpools. These parks are Aqualand El Arenal, Hidropark Alcúdia and Western Water Park. Below, we will break down the characteristics and services of each of these water parks.

Aqualand El Arenal

The greatest attractions in the water park Aqualand El Arenal, situated by the Arenal beach, in Palma de Mallorca, are El Tsunami and King Cobra. They guarantee you falls at breakneck speed to share with friends or to experience adrenalin shots individually. There are other attractions which are big in thrills and visual impact because they immerse the user in a fantastic and creative story.

Thrills are guaranteed on the Fórmula Race attraction in Aqualand Majorca, which consists in going down slides in boats which have been brought to the top of them. El Tornado combines really hair-raising descents and spins, which gives you the sensation you are being absorbed by some unknown force. And if what you want to experience a real thrill, slide down the Kamikaze, an individual slide for descending at an ever-increasing speed

Would you like to know anything else about the other attractions at Aqualand El Arenal? We can tell you that, in the Anaconda, you can enter an enormous 20-metre long snake and come out through its mouth after having slid down three spirals which will test your adrenalin. On the Crazy Race, you can race your friends because there are three 40-metre soft tracks you can enjoy in a group. Speed Boat consists in two dark slides in the shape of a 20-metre long tube, an attraction for all the family. And, lastly, on the Banzai you can literally ‘fly’ above the water.

Hidropark Alcúdia

The Hidropark is a water park located in Puerto de Alcúdia. It is perfect for spending a fun day of leisure with your family or friends, especially if you have small kids. Over no less than 40,000 square metres there are a variety of attractions for enjoying the water.

There are slides that come in different types (and shapes), a new area called Neptune, a minipark in the swimming pool, a pool with waves, apart from a refreshment stand and attractive giant water balls in which you can walk on the water. This is an activity which will drive both adults and kids crazy. On the Hidropark premises, there are bars and restaurants which provide a wide range of dishes, from warm and cold served dishes to barbecues or fast food.

Hidropark Alcúdia, the only one of the three parks in Majorca located in the north of the island, also gives you the option of keeping your feet dry with its 54-hole mini golf course. Here you can take a rest from this water commotion and feel like a professional golf player.

Western Water Park

Situated in Magaluf, Western Water Park has leading attractions amongst water park addicts. Furthermore, it offers a Wild West theme on its premises. Its rides are grouped in blocks, according to what the user is looking for at any given time: Adrenaline Fun, Family Fun, KidzWorld and Chill Out & Play.

Adrenalin lovers have lots to choose from. They may choose between El Látigo, with its exciting watery curves; La Cola del Diablo, which goes between Indian villages and demons; El Tornado, which will leave nobody unmoved; La Bestia, an almost upright slide with a 30-metre fall, or El Huracán, for those who are even willing to fly.

For those who wish to have a dip with all the family, there are many attractive and fun rides. The Big Hole, like its name suggests, is an immense dark hole down which grown-ups and kids can slide down in a group. Tijuana Twins consists in two large slides which end in a large swimming pool; Wild River follows a water route which is suitable for all ages; there is also a swimming pool with waves called Tam Tam Splash, and Tatanka gives you a fantastic ride with different heights and sensations.
