Visit the Caminito del Rey

Discover with Naturanda El Caminito del Rey, one of the most popular tourist visits in Andalusia in recent years. Walking along the paths along the walls of the gorge is really impressive. A journey in a unique natural environment through an impressive path that crosses the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes in the province of Malaga. The name of El Caminito del Rey dates back to 1921 when King Alfonso XIII crossed the path after the Conde de Guadalhorce dam or reservoir was inaugurated, a route protected by the Sociedad Hidroeléctrico del Chorro. The passage of time and its disuse caused it to deteriorate to a great extent and it became the most dangerous path in Europe, causing several victims. After a magnificent restoration work, the Caminito del Rey was reopened in 2015 and is now perfectly passable without any risk, with a part of it built taking advantage of what was built at the El Chorro station. The route runs between the Guadalhorce-Guadalteba reservoir and the village of El Chorro. It is a walk parallel to the railway tracks where you can walk and enjoy the famous route of the Gaitanes Gorge and the Gaitanejo, with areas with a width of just 1 metre. The tour starts in the municipality of Ardales and ends in the municipality of Álora. The route is 7 kilometres long, fully prepared and safe. The estimated time to complete the tour is two and a half hours, which we will do at a gentle and relaxed pace. A beautiful experience for nature lovers, with spectacular scenery where you can take stunning photographs.

Availability: Regular tour every Tuesday and Friday subject to availability (High demand tour). Occasionally we run this tour on other dates so please check the booking calendar for availability. Booking available 60 days in advance (For bookings made less than 60 days in advance, please contact us for availability).
The meeting point is at the door of the Restaurant El Kiosko, Parque Ardales, Pantano El Chorro, s/n, 29550 Ardales, Málaga. The time and place of the meeting point may vary depending on the time we have been assigned and depending on capacity and weather conditions. Check here the meeting point on Google Maps.
Duration: 4 hours approximately.
Minimum age: The minimum age to access the Caminito del Rey is 8 years old.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the start time of the activity will be refunded 100%. Cancellations made between 48 and 24 hours before the start of the activity, 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start of the activity will not be refunded.
