Carriage rides
Anyone who’s loved-up will find it difficult to resist taking a carriage ride through the streets of Seville. But, if you don’t want your love to melt away, this isn’t something you should be doing in the middle of the day. There are official stops for horses and carriages at the Cathedral (internal link), the María Luisa Park, the Plaza de España, and the Tower of Gold. But if you want to really surprise the one you love, then a carriage could even pick you up from your hotel. You’ll take a tour around the city’s most spectacular sights that will last for about 45 to 60 minutes. Plenty of time to whisper sweet nothings in their ear.
María Luisa Park
A stroll in the park is always a wonderful way to spend time with your other half, but if that park is Seville’s María Luisa Park, then even better. The most romantic spot in the park is the Glorieta de Bécquer. This is a monument dedicated to the Romanticist poet, with three women who represent love that’s fleeting, love that’s possessed, and love that’s lost. Behind them is Cupid, a symbol of damaged love, and love that does damage.
When dusk falls, the best place to watch the sunset is Monte Gurugú. If seeing the peacocks and swans makes you come over all sentimental, declare your love in the Pabellón de Alfonso XII, in the same place that Alfonso XII himself laid his heart bare in front of María de las Mercedes.
A boat trip in the Plaza de España
Seville’s Plaza de España is one of the most beautiful squares you’ll ever see. Its grandeur and colour make it unique. All aboard one of the rowing boats that float in the ornamental canal around the centre of the square. Cruise under the bridges at your own pace and let the love flow.
Dinner on a terrace with views of the Giralda
A romantic restaurant with a terrace at the feet of the Giralda with a quintessentially Sevillian atmosphere is the perfect place to spend an evening, just the two of you. The Restaurante El Giraldillo, a classic Sevillian restaurant, is known for its fantastic views of the Giralda (internal link), as it’s directly opposite it. This is a magical setting to enjoy classic Andalusian cuisine.

Flamenco in the neighbourhood of Santa Cruz
The neighbourhood of Santa Cruz has something magical about it. Seville’s old Jewish quarter is where you can enjoy the best tapas and the best flamenco, with bars with long histories and unique atmospheres.
- El Tablao Los Gallos is right in the heart of the neighbourhood of Santa Cruz, and is one of Seville’s most popular flamenco venues, attracting artists of the calibre of Los Del Río.
- La Casa del Flamenco. In the old Jewish quarter very close to the Giralda you’ll find a courtyard lined with old tiles, with marble columns and archways that belonged to a house dating from the fifteenth century. The atmosphere created every night is incredible, perfect for enjoying the best Andalusian flamenco as a couple. The acoustics are another point in its favour, as there’s no need for microphones.
- La Carbonería, in Calle Céspedes, is a taberna used as a ‘tablao’, where you can enjoy the very best flamenco, but also eat a few tapas whilst you listen. It’s a very cosy spot for romantic evenings.
A romantic cruise on the Guadalquivir
Treat your lover to something special with a private yacht trip on the Guadalquivir river, just for the two of you. As soon as you step aboard, the crew will welcome you with a drink. You can toast one another with your song playing in the background, as there’s a wrap-around sound system you can connect your phone to via Bluetooth. Cruising on the tranquil waters of the Guadalquivir, you could enjoy a romantic dinner, lie back on the deck to watch the stars, or even spend the night on the boat.
Sunset on Calle Betis
From this riverside street in the neighbourhood of Triana, you can enjoy one of the city’s most beautiful views at sunset. Take a beautiful stroll and contemplate the Guadalquivir river, the Tower of Gold and the Giralda, and end up by the Triana bridge. This is one of the symbols of the neighbourhood and is Spain’s oldest preserved iron bridge. In fact, its real name is the Isabel II Bridge, and it has spectacular views, with Calle Betis to one side, and the rooftops of Seville with the Giralda shooting up between them to the other.
A stroll down the Callejón del Agua
Before it was overrun by tourists, the Callejón del Agua was an obligatory stop for romantic writers and travellers like Washington Irving. Located on one side of the famous neighbourhood of Santa Cruz, the alleyway leads to the famous Murillo Gardens, dotted with small fountains surrounded by ceramic benches and greenery.
