In Tenerife, there is still a hidden treasure, a corner of the island where you can contemplate the entire history of the island; from the first volcanic eruptions to the present day. The San Blas Environmental Reserve is a jewel of Canarian nature and culture. More than 500,000 m2 of a protected area where you can see the traces of the island's volcanic past, the endemic flora and fauna that settled in this area thousands of years ago and the vestiges that human beings have left in the territory: from the Guanches to the present day.
San Blas Environmental Reserve, is an exquisite example of the natural and cultural wealth that this part of the island houses, the fact that it has barely undergone transformation and remains in a state similar to that of hundreds of thousands of years ago, has contributed to the survival of very characteristic ecosystems typical of this place. The scientific studies carried out on this farm evidenced the enormous archaeological, biological, geological and historical interest that this place houses. For this reason, the project takes as its argument or theme of inspiration its natural values and the use that has been made of them. Animals, plants and humans have coexisted while respecting each other, leaving us a natural legacy with such a high degree of conservation that it has allowed us to know all their richness. And the San Blas orography, in addition to being spectacular due to its modeling, is also part of this legacy that has been developed over the centuries and which has often been an important condition in the life or activity that took place here in the past. Thus, this space brings together the main aspects that make a place special, combines natural, cultural and landscape values, turning San Blas into an example of heritage conservation.
