Description
You don't need to be a certified scuba diver to admire the underwater nature. We organize diving for beginners in a beautiful place called the Bay of Stingrays. There are several kinds of rays here and none are aggressive. On the contrary, they are very peaceful and friendly. Usually they are not afraid of divers so they often come close.
The Stingray Bay is home to many species of underwater animals. A large part of the bottom is covered by a volcanic reef. It is a favourite place for all kinds of underwater animals and fish. During the dive, we can watch about 15 species of fish, rays, turtles, crabs, moray eels, octopus, cuttlefish, shrimps and many more. We encounter stingrays here every day, although we do not guarantee that for every dive. Ray species that live in our bay are Sting Rays, Bull Rays, Butterfly Rays.
Try dive:
The minimum age is 8 years. We start with 30 minutes of training in a language understood by the participant. We use a specially prepared video or oral instruction. We prepare diving equipment and enter the water. Try divers are under the supervision of an instructor, in a maximum of two to one ratio. This gives great comfort and safety. This distinguishes our school from others, where one instructor can take care of up to 8 people! Our Diving Center is located just in front of the water entrance in the Stingray Bay that makes it very comfortable to dive here. You can leave personal belongings in the dive center, change clothes or use the toilet. The length of stay underwater depends on the option purchased (20 or 40 minutes)
Those who prefer staying on the surface are invited to go snorkeling, during which you will also see marine animals and fish.
50 min Snorkeling:
We invite you to go snorkeling in Rays Bay, one of the best sites of Tenerife where you will enjoy the underwater landscapes, see a lot of fish, plants and animals. Here we encounter huge ocean rays frequently. Snorkeling is easy and a lot of fun.
Join us on one of our snorkeling trip to see the inhabitants of the Atlantic ocean! We give a full briefing to our snorkelers, put on warm suits, take masks, fins and snorkels and enter the water from the beach. We also take a swimming float so that snorkelers can have a rest from time to time, the trip is 50 min long and always lead by an instructor.
Snorkeling with turtles (by boat):
For snorkeling fans we also have a special boat trip to the Palm Mar. We will prepare ourselves in our diving center where the instructor will explain how the excursion is and will deliver the equipment to the boat (wetsuit, mask, snorkel and fins). We leave from the port of Los Cristianos to El Palm-mar where we will swim for 50 minutes near the fish farms in search of turtles and different marine animals. On the way to our snorkeling spot you will have the opportunity to see dolphins and enjoy the view of Los Cristianos from the boat.
What should you know before you go?
- The statistics ensure that diving for beginners is very safe. You can compare it to cycling. For this reason, it is also available for children. Each participant in the training program is insured.
- Diving does not require any special health conditions. However, there are diseases that require medical approval. If you suffer from asthma, epilepsy, chronic heart disease, take medication that prevents driving, cannot play sports, or are disabled, obtain a document from your doctor.
- Pregnant women are not recommended to dive.
- Knowing how to swim is mandatory
- Transport optional ( If you need transfer, you must contact us in advanced ) The price for the transfer will be 2€ per person from Barcelo Corales and Barceló Tenerife)and from Barcelo Santiago and Allegro Isora will be 15€ for 4 pax. You need to book in advanced and you will have to pay the transfer directly to the bus driver.
