Visit the wineries of Requena in a completely rural environment. On this tour you will visit the Cuevas de la Villa and enjoy a delicious wine tasting at the Vera de Estenas Winery. Utiel-Requena, a protected designation of origin, is located less than 1 hour from Valencia. It is an area where the main economic engine is wine, as it is full of valleys and vineyards. Its winemaking tradition dates back to the 7th century B.C., being one of the oldest in the world. We will begin the tour by entering the caves of the Villa, under the town of Requena. You will explore these caves, which date back to the Muslim era, served as a cellar, shelter and food storage. There are 22 caves, excavated between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries and currently remain intact. Afterwards, you will visit the Vera de Estenas Winery, entering a traditional vineyard, very well preserved, with vineyards of absolute beauty. It is a family village, passed down from generation to generation, where Valencian wine is produced. Here you will discover the vineyards and the production processes of its famous wine, in an environment surrounded by nature and tranquility. During the season of August and September you will be able to taste grapes from the vine itself and in October you will discover the grape treading. This is a perfect excursion for everyone, including the whole family, since the caves of the Villa is a perfectly preserved historical construction in which children will be amazed. Likewise, the winery is located in a stunning rural setting, ideal for parents to do the tasting and children to enjoy the environment while playing. • 10:30: guided tour of the Requena caves. Duration of one hour. Visit to the Vera de Estenas Winery. Duration of one hour and a half. Tasting of three Vera de Estenas wines with local cheeses and sausages.
