Known by various names, Black Palace Beach and Secret Beach being just some of the alternatives, Al Sufouh Beach is a firm favourite among Dubai residents. Just as its moniker suggests, this stretch of sand offers an escape from the crowds and an undeveloped shoreline free from the typical facilities such as a restaurant or bar. Yet, what it lacks in conveniences it makes up for in spectacular views of the Burj Al Arab. So, if you are looking for a place to retreat to while on your Dubai beach holidays, this sandy spot is the perfect place for a picnic and a day spent chilling on the sand.

If you are on the hunt for one of the best Dubai beaches, look no further than Jebel Ali Beach. Far less built-up than many other free beaches in Dubai- and some may argue that it is all the better for it, this beach is the home of disconnection and tranquility. Throw your towel onto the sun kissed sand, feel the heat of the day penetrate through every pore and listen to the calming sound of the waves. Does life get better than this? We think not. With beautiful stretches of soft white sand and the iconic Burj Al Arab towering in the background, Sunset Beach is probably one of Dubai's most popular hot spots to grab the ultimate holiday selfie. Also known as Umm Suqeim Beach, this public beach offers the perfect place for complete relaxation and tranquillity for locals and visitors alike. Whether you want to just kick back and lie in the sunshine or dive right into the crystal blue waters of the Arabian Gulf for a spot of swimming and snorkelling, it's all possible here.

If visiting Dubai with children, then the family-friendly Al Mamzar Beach Park is the perfect place for all to enjoy. Offering beautiful beaches and acres of greenery, Al Mamzar Park is one of Dubai's truly hidden gems. Whether you want to stroll along the beach, swim in the pool or have a kick in one of the parks, there's no shortage of activities to do. With so much to do, you'll be sure to work up an appetite! So be sure to pack a picnic and take advantage of dedicated barbecue areas dotted around the park.

If you're serious about water sports then the aptly named Kite Beach is the perfect place to challenge yourself. Enjoy a sunset walk across the shoreline or dip your toes in the water before retreating into the popular Mercato Mall which sits directly opposite the beach.  

Keep things simple and get back to nature with a day out on Sunrise Beach. All you need is a form of transport, ideally an offroading style vehicle, a picnic, lashings of sunscreen and your swimwear. This vast expanse of sand feels virtually untouched and a far cry from the hectic nature of inner city life. 

Come prepared because there are little to no facilities. Yet, the shallow waters mean that families with young children can kick back and relax, while active souls can enjoy a beachside jog as the sun rises over the Gulf. This is a beach for beachlovers.
